How do you define a good and fulfilling life? A fancy car? The well-paid dream job? Great health and a perfect partner? Or are you hoping for a well-deserved retirement in a luxury motorhome? But what if it all becomes meaningless at once?
We work hard all our lives just to enjoy a few years of retirement at the end. In our earthly life, we are very limited in what we can do. And then the end comes. For each of us. At the latest then you start to think about death. You can hope that there is nothing more – that death is the end. But can you be sure? Imagine dying and suddenly standing before your Creator, who now demands an account from you!
The best is yet to come – hopefully!
In John 3:16 the Bible says:
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
God wants to have us with him in eternity – in a liberated life without restrictions. There will be no more stress, no more illness, no more worries. A fulfilled life awaits us there, which we can only imagine at best. All the material wealth on this earth does not make us happy in the long run. But a life with God in eternity allows our hearts to come to rest.
Unfortunately, no human being can prevail before God, because each of us carries guilt in our hearts. But that is precisely why Jesus Christ died on the cross – for your guilt and mine! Accept this incredible gift! Then, at the end of your life, you will experience a God as the final judge who acquits you and gives you eternal life!
