HEY, welcome to the anchor points in Chemnitz. It's great that you stopped by. Take a seat.

What do you believe in?

There are stormy times in life when everything goes upside down. Faith can give you true stability:

Our lives rarely follow a straight path. Even if you're not in a crisis right now, you may have experienced other times. Are you prepared for them?

Financial challenges or family problems? Are you feeling overwhelmed or falling into a deep hole? For some things, you may have a back-up plan. But then the one thing happens that you didn’t expect. Whether it’s a minor or major obstacle in life – you don’t have to shoulder it alone.

When everything falls apart, there is one who will hold you. In the Bible, in the letter to the Romans (8:28), the Creator of this world makes a firm promise to all those who earnestly turn to him:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God.

Believe in Jesus Christ - the Son of the Creator of this world! He promises to be there for you. Whether the days are sunny or gray.

What do you hope for?

A good and fulfilling life is worth striving for. But what comes after that? Having hope in sight:

How do you define a good and fulfilling life? A fancy car? The well-paid dream job? Great health and a perfect partner? Or are you hoping for a well-deserved retirement in a luxury motorhome? But what if it all becomes meaningless at once?

We work hard all our lives just to enjoy a few years of retirement at the end. In our earthly life, we are very limited in what we can do. And then the end comes. For each of us. At the latest then you start to think about death. You can hope that there is nothing more – that death is the end. But can you be sure? Imagine dying and suddenly standing before your Creator, who now demands an account from you!

The best is yet to come – hopefully!

In John 3:16 the Bible says:

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God wants to have us with him in eternity – in a liberated life without restrictions. There will be no more stress, no more illness, no more worries. A fulfilled life awaits us there, which we can only imagine at best. All the material wealth on this earth does not make us happy in the long run. But a life with God in eternity allows our hearts to come to rest.

Unfortunately, no human being can prevail before God, because each of us carries guilt in our hearts. But that is precisely why Jesus Christ died on the cross – for your guilt and mine! Accept this incredible gift! Then, at the end of your life, you will experience a God as the final judge who acquits you and gives you eternal life!

Are you loved?

Everyone longs for love and attention. Discover what it means to be loved unconditionally:

We long for recognition and appreciation. We are willing to go the extra mile for this. Special achievements or a lot of money can buy us some recognition. In the digital world, we aim for lots of followers to become more popular. Wouldn't it be wonderful if I were loved just like that –without having to perform?

Our efforts to find love, affection and value are often the result of our restless or aimless lives. Deep down, we often feel empty and lonely. We seek stability. We are looking for a goal. We are searching for an anchor in life that gives us stability and security.

God himself has cast this anchor: his name is Jesus Christ! Jesus loves you – just like that! You don’t have to do anything for it, you don't have to prove your worth. He is the one you can hold on to. With him you are safe.

The Bible says in Romans 5:8:

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Jesus loves you – just like that. Jesus died out of love for you to save you. How do you respond to this love?

What are the “Anchor Points”?

“Anchor Point” is the name of a group of three benches in public spaces in Chemnitz and the surrounding area. They invite people for lingering and encounter.

The themes of faith, hope and love are an opportunity for reflection and exchange regarding the three most important concepts that define us as human beings.

Where can I find "Anchor Points"?
